Note that there is no single ASTM category called “Building Enclosure Testing.” The applicable standards are distributed among ASTM Committees E06 (Performance of Buildings), C15 (Masonry), C16 (Thermal Insulation), C24 (Building Seals and Sealants), and others.

A key point: ASTM test methods generally define how a test is performed, but the project specification, code, or testing agency usually establishes the acceptance criteria and test pressure.

For example, ASTM E1105 does not establish a universal pass/fail pressure for every project.
